A Volunteer-Based Program
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is seeking community volunteers and corporate partners to participate in its Adopt-a-Park program.
Our Department maintains over 190 parks that provide open space and recreation areas and facilities from Padre Island to Five Points. While our capable staff works diligently to care for the vast park system, we also depend on volunteers to help our efforts to keep our parks beautiful and safe for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors.
Whether you are an army of one or 100, we have ample opportunities for you and your organization to contribute to the well being and enhancement of our park system. The Adopt-a-Park program allows small businesses, community groups and civic-minded individuals to dedicate their time, talents and treasures to the maintenance and development of Corpus Christi’s unique park system.
The program is flexible to suit your and your organization’s capacity to contribute. From regularly scheduled clean ups to building play equipment to planting trees and other landscape enhancements, there is truly something or some place for everyone to pitch in and help.
The Adopt-a-Park program is a meaningful way for businesses, groups and volunteers to showcase their commitment to the community. In effort to herald this pledge and promote further adoptions, the Department will provide a sign at each adopted park acknowledging a group’s contribution and commitment.
The first step towards adopting a park is completing the application (PDF file). If you’re uncertain about the area or park you would like to adopt click here to review a list of parks and the amenities offered at each park. Once you have selected a park and completed the application, submit a copy to Becky Perrin, Program Services Superintendent, at beckyp@cctexas.com, and the process towards adopting a park will begin thereafter.
Our park system, and the people who enjoy it, are vital components of Corpus Christi. We hope you will join our efforts to build a vibrant community through volunteers and parks.
We invite you Live. Learn. Play!
